Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
For a while now I have been feeling down. I have been stressing out over things. Things for me in my life currently have not been going as planned. I thought after graduation I would find a job, save money and move out of my mother’s house. None of those things happened. I began to feel weight on my shoulders; feeling sad and anxiety. Over thinking, over stressing, complaining and worrying was all that I did. I began to doubt my dreams and doubt myself. I would cry often because I began to feel unmotivated and I did not feel at peace. That worry about my future not only cause me stress, but had an impact on my body, sleep and spiritual life.
After talking with some friends and attending one of my friend’s church bible study last night, it hit me that I needed to let go. I am sure you all have heard the saying, “Give it to God and then go to sleep.” What benefits are there to worrying and stressing out over things that are beyond your control? One thing I am learning now is to let go. Let go of your fears, anxieties and worries. Let go of the things you cannot change. When you do, you will experience confidence and his peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 NIV
Remember in the past how the Lord took care of you and answered your prayers, even the ones that you only said in your heart. The Lord always hears your prayers. Tell him what is on your mind and trust that everything will work out.
Don’t worry, be happy. 🙂
I have some scriptures I found that I would like to share with you if you below. Meditate on them daily. Write a few on index cards and read them when you feel yourself worrying.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matt 6:25-27 NIV
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matt 6:34 NIV
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22 NIV
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
“They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.” Psalm 112:7 NIV
“I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.” Psalm 34:4-7 NIV
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” 1 Peter 5:7-10 NLT
“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” Psalm34:17-19 NIV
