The Desert or Wilderness of Uncertainty

Out in the desert yesterday, I went hiking for the first time. With one person I barely knew and another person who I did not know at all (or even knew who was coming along for the hike). I had no choice but to trust these two men, I guess with my life. The guy that I somewhat knew saw I was a little nervous, afraid and that hiking was completely new to me. Even though they both knew it was my first time hiking, they decided to go off the trail that was already there. The goal was to get to the mini water fall. The whole way, we will call him guy “A”, he was my guide.  Guy “A” cheered me on. When I got to places where I thought for sure I was going to fall or slip, He reached out both hands to pick me up or to hold my hand. There were moments when I was very afraid, especially because I am clumsy and there were cactus all around us. Guy “A” would go before me, realized that I stopped and turn around with a smile and say, “It is ok. I got you.” There was a path we went on and we had to cross over a cactus. That would have been a painful way to go! He had both hands out reaching for me, smiling and assuring me I could do it. I looked around, saw all the cactus around me. If I somehow avoided that cactus I had to walk over, I thought for sure would somehow fall on the ones around me. I took my eyes off of him and my mind went racing. He got me to regain focus and said ever so patiently, “Daisy, it is okay. Look, you are doing fine. I got you.” I jumped into his arms, looked back at the cactus. I slipped back but he grabbed me before I could look like Pinhead from the movie Hellraiser. Before I knew it, we made it to the mini waterfall safely and needle free. Then we took the trail that was already made back.

Made me think of God. Often times, God takes us to unfamiliar places. We think we have an idea the path we will take, but He has another way in mind.  There are also times we decide to go off route as well. The route is not always an easy one. There might be some things we come across that might be a little scary, but He is there with us the whole way in the desert or wilderness of uncertainty. It is important to not take your eyes off Him. No matter what you are going through, He is with you. And He would not put you through anything that He knows you cannot handle. When I came across the path I had to cross over the cactus, I thought of the story when Peter walked on water towards Jesus. It was when Peter took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at his situation when he began to sink. But Jesus was right there swiftly grabbed Peter from going under.  Focus on your guide and protector. He loves you more than you can ever imagine. He loves you more than anyone on this earth even! Take his hand and trust that whatever you are going through right now, he is with you and cheering you on along the way.

Worry Wart Pt2

Hello my loves! I am so sorry I have not been consistent with my posts. I have been going through transition and “growing pains” I will say.
I have been dealing with the process of moving to another state for Grad school, the opinions of others; also I have been experiencing high anxiety and fear about them both. The feelings were so intense, I got sick! Constant migraines and feeling tired all the time. I can say I am feeling and doing a lot better and I thank the Lord for that!
Worry can have such a negative impact on your body. Along with migraines and feeling tired, I was not able to sleep well and I was experiencing pains in my body.

Worrying is useless because it does not help or change the situation. It just wears you down mentally and physically.I was so worried about receiving negative reactions from my family about leaving the South to go out West that I was even considering not going. And let me tell you, I got my self all worked up for nothing because they all were very supportive. Most of the stuff we worry about is not going to happen anyway!

So if if you cannot change it, tell God about it and let it go. Go to God in prayer, bring up your requests and thank him for hearing you and for all that he has done. Read Philippians 4:6-7.

I will do another post about worry soon. I feel I have grown in this area. I have been struggling in this area for sometime in my life. The thing about the Lord is if you are struggling in an area, he will bring up opportunities for you to work on it. Sometimes what we pray for requires work on our end too. Can’t pass a test if you refuse to learn or even take it. 😉

I love you guys! If you have a prayer request or a topic feel free to email me at

Your Dreams and Dealing with Discouragement

Sometimes, people have a lot of mouth and unsolicited opinions about what you should or should not do in your life.

Can they live your life? Will they deal with the regret? Will they deal with the consequences, good or bad?

You should pursue your dreams no matter what. Do NOT let anyone discourage you from pursuing your dreams. Sometimes people discourage you for verity of reasons. It might be because they are not brave enough to pursue their dreams, jealousy or not sure of your abilities. Surround yourself with people who are going to encourage and uplift you. Do not feed into the negativity or fears of other people.

Do not allow yourself to sit in the presence of people who are constantly discouraging your dreams. If you listen to it long enough, their discouragements may resonate in your heart and you may begin to doubt yourself.

Visualize your dreams and take steps toward it daily. Write down a plan and begin to network with people that may be able to help. Do whatever you got to do but no matter what, DO NOT GIVE UP! It may take a while but keep pressing! Tell the Lord your desires of your heart and he will work it out for you (Psalm 37:4).

Ministering to myself while I share this with you. I dealt with people belittling my dreams and for a long time, it kept me from pursing what was in my heart. Do not place yourself in a cage because of people’s opinions.

Here is a prayer for anyone reading this that maybe dealing with discouragement about their dreams. Read it aloud and believe that God will open up those doors.

Father God,

Thank you for always being there for me and loving me. I cancel out all plans of the enemy over my life in the name of Jesus. I cancel out all the negative things that have been spoken over my life and destiny, in the name of Jesus. Lord You said in Your word that You have plans for us to prosper (Jeremiah 29:11) and that you would give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4). So I believe RIGHT NOW that you are opening up supernatural doors of opportunities in my life to pursue my dreams. I speak, Lord, that you are lining up the right people along my path of success. I WILL accomplish my dreams! I WILL be successful! In Jesus name. Amen.

Do not continue to let fear of what people may say or think hold you back from your dreams. Tell your plans to God, he will work it out 🙂 I pray blessings upon you.

Watch Your Words

Hello my love! I hope all is well with you. I wanted to talk about this topic for a while now, but I will brush on it a bit and go further more into details soon. I shared this as a testimony on one of my personal social media accounts. I hope it encourages and blesses someone.

“Im so careful with what I say and what I allow people speak over my life. I CANNOT count the times I have said something, and it happend.

Tesimony: I was a fill-in person/ on call since May2014. Recently in December I spoke almost daily that my job will give me a permanent site, weekends off, holidays and full time hours before january was out… I got a call the last day in January with EXCATLY what I asked for and started my new site on the 1st week of feb.

So watch your words. They are more powerful than you think they are. You can either bless your life or curse it. ”

Control your words. I have A LOT of stories where I have said something out of fear, jokingly, hope and faith and it happend. I can’t wait to share them with you.

Have you had a similar experience? If so let me know!

Worry Wart

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

For a while now I have been feeling down. I have been stressing out over things. Things for me in my life currently have not been going as planned. I thought after graduation I would find a job, save money and move out of my mother’s house. None of those things happened. I began to feel weight on my shoulders; feeling sad and anxiety. Over thinking, over stressing, complaining and worrying was all that I did. I began to doubt my dreams and doubt myself. I would cry often because I began to feel unmotivated and I did not feel at peace. That worry about my future not only cause me stress, but had an impact on my body, sleep and spiritual life.

After talking with some friends and attending one of my friend’s church bible study last night, it hit me that I needed to let go. I am sure you all have heard the saying, “Give it to God and then go to sleep.” What benefits are there to worrying and stressing out over things that are beyond your control? One thing I am learning now is to let go. Let go of your fears, anxieties and worries. Let go of the things you cannot change. When you do, you will experience confidence and his peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 NIV

Remember in the past how the Lord took care of you and answered your prayers, even the ones that you only said in your heart. The Lord always hears your prayers. Tell him what is on your mind and trust that everything will work out.

Don’t worry, be happy. 🙂

I have some scriptures I found that I would like to share with you if you below. Meditate on them daily. Write a few on index cards and read them when you feel yourself worrying.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matt 6:25-27 NIV

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matt 6:34 NIV

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalm 55:22 NIV

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

“They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.”  Psalm 112:7 NIV

“I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.” Psalm 34:4-7 NIV

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.  In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”  1 Peter 5:7-10 NLT

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.  The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” Psalm34:17-19 NIV

Prayer in 2015

I wanted to start off my first blog of the year with a prayer for you :).

Thank you Lord for letting me see another year! I speak God’s favor in my life and that I will be overtaken with blessings. All of my needs are met. I declare financial breakthroughs in my life. I speak against the works of the enemy and tear down strongholds. No weapons formed against me shall prosper! I speak against any negative thing that was spoken over my life. God has big plans for my future and for me to prosper.
I command healing in my body. Every pain, sickness and disease will no longer be in my body and it be uprooted and removed in Jesus name. I speak against any negative thought that may come in my mind and that I only think of the things that are pleasing to the Lord.
In Jesus name.
Happy New Year!

Me-Used and abused. How can I be beautiful? Who would want me? I have been hurt by those who I have trusted. I have been hurt by those who I loved. I have been betrayed so much; people who where supposed to carry me safely in their hands, dropped me. Different situations in life have knocked me down too. Now look… I am in pieces. How am I of value to anyone?

God- You are beautiful. Yes you have been hurt and betrayed by those you loved and trusted, but I am here. You are of great value to me. See your pieces , I have put them back together with gold. Your experiences have made you who your are. More beautiful inside and out. Your cracks show the best part of you. Do not be hard or cold to the world, but continue to radiate love. I have placed you in my hands. I will handle you with great care.
Have you ever felt this way? I was recently sad and I said that I felt like an open pot.” Ironically”, I came across one of these pictures. I researched and saw more beautiful pictures. You are beautiful. You are of great value and people are blessed by you. Don’t let the world change your heart. Your past is a blessing. You overcame things and or people that were out to do you harm.
The Lord loves you and I do as well :). I want you to have a great week!

Studying the Bible

Hey there! I hope that your week has been fulfilling.
This is a topic I would love for people to comment and share their ideas.
There are so many different ways to study the bible. I am still learning myself, but I would like to share what helps me.

1. Keep a journal.
Keeping a spiritual journal would be good encouragment tool. There were times when I shared somethings from my journal with someone to encourage them. When ever I get discouraged, I flip back a few pages and read about what the Lord did for me before. You can look back and see how much you have matured, how the Lord moved in your life or someone elses and prayers that been answered. When I study and I see a scripture that pops out to me, I also write it down in my journal.

2.Study Bible
I love my Study Bible. Mine was a gift, but they are a little bit costly. The reason why I love it so much is because it has questions after some chapters that make you think and reflect what was read. I also feel it helps with remembering and comprending what was read. Mine is written in everyday language, so it is easy to read.

3. Different Translations
As I stated above, I use a bible that is easy to read. I often compare to the KJV to gain another understanding of what I am reading.

I highlight my notes, what I read and even things in my journal.

6.Praying Partner and Spiritual Friend
I have one prayer partner that is always ready to be in agreement for what I am praying for. We are close friends. We encourage one another, correct each other and pour into one another. Anytime my friend sees a scripture or sermon she sends it to me and I do the same to her.

7. Notes
Kind of the same reason for keeping a journal. It helps you remember what you read. And just like a journal, you can use it as an encouragment tool. You maybe talking to a friend one day who maybe going through something and maybe you can use something from your notes to encourage them. Also if there was something you read and did not quite understand, you can ask someone about it or come back to it later.

I have another suggestion. If you have not used I feel you should check it out. I stumbled on this site and glad I did. It contains different many different things such as articles, devotionals, prayers and translations. The main reason I use it is because it breaks down each verse. I also have Youversion app on my phone. Youversion you can connect with friends, make new friends, send verses, read the bible, devotionals, videos and more.

I hope what I shared has helped :). What are somethings you use to help you study? What are different apps and or websites you use?
Have a great week!
